Managed by the Technical Committee and driven by specialized Study Committees and Working Groups, we foster innovation, facilitate knowledge exchange, and develop cutting-edge solutions to meet the evolving demands of the energy sector. Join us in our collaborative efforts to shape the future of sustainable and reliable power infrastructure.

Our Technical Structure

CIGRE Ireland encourages active participation from its members at all levels of technical activities. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or an emerging expert, your involvement is crucial to our collective success.

Technical Committee (TC)

The Technical Committee is the guiding force behind CIGRE’s technical endeavors. It oversees and coordinates the activities of all Study Committees, ensuring that our initiatives align with CIGRE’s mission and strategic goals.

  • Coordination: Directs and synchronizes the work of various Study Committees.
  • Strategic Oversight: Sets the direction and priorities for technical activities.
  • Approval of Publications: Reviews and approves all publications produced by Study Committees to maintain high standards of quality and relevance.

Study Committees (SCs)

Study Committees are specialized groups focused on specific areas within the electrical power industry. Their primary objectives are to promote the exchange of information, organize and undertake studies, and advance both techniques and knowledge in their respective fields.

  • Select Study Areas: Identify and define the scope of study topics based on industry needs and technological advancements.
  • Content Specification: Determine the specific content and research parameters for each study area.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track the development and progress of ongoing studies to ensure timely and effective outcomes.
  • Publication Approval: Approve the dissemination of study results through reports, papers, and technical documents.

Working Groups (WGs)

Working Groups are formed to execute specific technical studies or projects within a predefined scope and timeframe. They operate under the guidance of Study Committees and are composed of experts nominated by National Committees like CIGRE Ireland.

  • Technical Activities: Conduct in-depth research and analysis on specialized topics.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with industry experts, researchers, and professionals to develop innovative solutions.
  • Reporting: Submit findings and recommendations to Study Committees for further review and publication.
