The first CIGRE Ireland Women in Energy event (17 September 2024) featured thought leaders and role models sharing their perspective and insights on working in the energy sector.
The event was held in association with Wind Energy Ireland and Green Tech Skillnet.
Marie Hayden, Global Energy Executive, delivered an inspiring piece on the opportunities in the sector and to grab those opportunities when they come knocking.
SSE Renewables, Director of Development Maria Ryan spoke of her leadership path and offered nuggets of advice from peers.
Marie and Maria then joined Sinead Heneghan, Chief Executive, Learning and Development Institute and Sarah Downing, Chief People & Capability Officer, EirGrid for a panel discussion on going for the role in power.
Panellists encouraged more women to put themselves forward for roles in the sector and offered insights into their experience. Ina Mulrooney, Executive Coach, Trainer, Facilitator, EQUINOX Coaching & HR Consulting excellently moderated the discussion and facilitated the many questions from the audience.
